Versus Fight Night 11 in Centurion promises to be a first-class action-packed MMA experience

MMA fans are counting down the hours for today’s (Saturday 25 January) exciting Versus Fight Night 11 event, which will be held from 16:30 at the Heartfelt Arena in Centurion opposite the Voortrekker Monument.

With nine fights in the preliminary action and six fights as part of the main card – three of which are title fights – spectators at this event couldn’t ask for more excitement and thrills.

The driving force behind this event, Versus Promotions, is taking the MMA ranks in South Africa by storm and with this major tournament will likely establish themselves as one of the primary local role players in this popular sport.

Founded in 2021 amidst the challenges of COVID-19, Versus MMA started as an amateur MMA promotion. Since then, they have grown exponentially, hosting unforgettable fight nights that unite fighters and fans alike.

What began as a platform for amateur fighters has evolved into a thriving stage for both amateurs and professionals, showcasing the immense talent of South African athletes.

But Versus Promotions is not just about hosting our Versus MMA fight nights. Their Versus Grappling events, held on the mornings of fight nights, bring together grapplers from across the country. From kids just starting out to seasoned athletes testing their skills, these events offer a dynamic platform for all. Even UFC fighter Dricus du Plessis has graced their mats, proving the caliber of competitors they attract.

There are no limits to the innovation of these promoters and their ability to expand the sport of MMA in unique ways is attracting great interest.

One of their proudest achievements is the launch of ‘Moer ‘n Boer’, a world-first event and television series. This initiative trains Boere (farmers) over six months to step into the cage for a unique and exciting showdown. The first season was a resounding success and during Saturday’s Versus Fight Night 11 event fans will meet the Boere of Season 2. These fighters will participate in tryouts on Sunday, 26 January, to see who will take part in the second season of this groundbreaking series.

The team is led by President Janneman van den Berg, with co-owner and matchmaker, Pretoria’s other UFC star, Cameron Saaiman, bringing his expertise to ensure the best matchups and events. Together, they have created a community that celebrates athleticism, courage, and the spirit of competition.
