Best Tenpin bowlers in South Africa come to Pretoria for national tournament

The Tenpin Bowling Association of South Africa's interprovincial tournament will take place in Pretoria this coming weekend.

For most people, Tenpin Bowling is an activity that the whole family can participate in for recreation.

However, there are participants in this popular sport who approach it very seriously and compete in it at a representative level.

Lovers of Tenpin Bowling in Pretoria will soon have the chance to see the country’s best players in this popular indoor sport in action here on home soil.

The Tenpin Bowling Association of South Africa (TBASA) will be hosting an Interprovincial Championship at The Fun Company, Menlyn Mall, Pretoria. The Championship will he held from Sunday 13th October until Friday 18th October.

This tournament will already kick off at 12:00 on Sunday 13 October with the official opening, which will be dealt with by Tshwane Sports Council President, Winston Meyer, followed by the presentation of Provincial Teams.

Six provinces will be represented at the tournament. This includes Eastern Gauteng, Central Gauteng, Midlands, KwaZulu Natal, Eastern Province and the host province, Gauteng North.

Each Province will be represented by 18 members in their team, who will be bowling in three divisions. The Gold division is an open division, where players of different ages participate. Then there is the Senior division for players over the age of 50, while the Silver division is exclusive and also known as the Handicap division.

Each day of the week will have various squads scheduled to bowl and the six bowlers in each division will compete head to head against each other, while bowling in singles, doubles, trios and team events.

The players representing their various provinces are obviously the best of the country’s bowlers at present, having being selected to participate in this prestigious championship.

This tournament will be the opportunity to see serious Tenpin Bowlers between the ages of 16 and 70 in action. Several players who have already won national colors are also among the participants.
