LETTER: A message of comfort and hope

This Rekord reader gives a message, a glimmer of hope to residents during a dark time.

Dear neighbour,

I’m a fellow resident living here in Pretoria. I am writing to you today to share a message of comfort and hope. So many today are anxiously worried and uncertain as to the future. The last few months have been very hard on all of us, how sad we all are with worsening of world conditions.

The Holy Scriptures at Revelation 12:9 reminds us that the whole world is under the influence of God’s Enemy Satan the Devil. No wonder, as much of what?s happening in the world reflects his wicked personality! How grateful we are that the Creator holds out hope for the entire mankind. In Jeremiah 29:11 we are assured that the Almighty God of the universe holds out to us the opportunity of a future and hope. God will not tolerate the saddening wicked circumstances indefinitely.

God’s purpose for the earth is really wonderful, look at the promise from the Holy Scriptures:

– Wickedness, warfare, crime, and violence will be gone. “The wicked will be no more . . . But the meek will possess the earth.” Psalm 37:10, 11: Psalm 46:9; Isaiah 2:4: Isaiah 32:18; Micah 4:4; Isaiah 65:21-24.

– Food shortages will not exist. “There will be an abundance of grain on the earth,” sang the psalmist. “On the top of the mountains it will overflow.” Psalm 72:16; Psalm 67:6.

– Sickness will vanish. As Ruler of God’s heavenly Kingdom, Jesus will heal on a far grander scale than when he was on earth. Matthew 9:35; Mark 1:40-42; John 5:5-9. Then no resident will say: “I am sick.” Isaiah 33:24; 35:5, 6.; Acts 24:15; John 5:28, 29.

– No more cancer, corona and malaria because all sickness will be taken away. No more sickness, illness, depression, corruption and oppression will cease – Psalm 72:12-14. Acts 10:34, 35 states: ‘God is not partial, but in every nation, the man who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him. God loves all people, He will give everyone the same treatment. What a marvellous future awaits those who choose to learn about our Grand Creator! Revelation 21:4 says, ‘And He will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.’ That hope is not merely wishful thinking. God fully purposes to bring it to reality, and he has both the power and the desire to do so. The hope that the Bible holds out is reliable. I asked some of my friends how these promises encourage them.

Here are some responses:

“I cannot wait when my kids can play by themselves outside, without me worrying constantly about someone stealing them.” Another said, “I cannot wait for the aches and pain to be gone. I’m so tired of relying on medication to cope.”

“I hold on to these promises, no more living in fear, and no more worrying about financial burdens – will my children have food tonight?? ?Living one day at a time is easier said than done – holding on to this Hope keeps me going. Trust in God.”

“No more feeling worthless, useless, that no one cares – I know God understands what I go through and he comforts me through his Word and these promises, I believe he cares for us.”

My dear neighbours: Stay positive and keep growing in your knowledge and relationship with God.
