LETTER: Saving lives with creativity

"When I drive to my office in the mornings between Weskoppies Hospital and Kgosi Mampuru Prison, the potholes are so deep and many if I had to plant trees it would look like a pine-tree plantation in Kwa-Zulu Natal."

Thanks to the person who planted the tree in the pothole. He/she has indeed saved a life or 6 by that action!

When I drive to my office in the mornings between Weskoppies Hospital and Kgosi Mampuru Prison, the potholes are so deep and many if I had to plant trees it would look like a pine-tree plantation in Kwa-Zulu Natal.

We have called numerous times for help but so far have received no assistance at all. It looks like a war zone in Iraq after being bombed, but no one is willing to help and guess what, that road belongs to and falls under the jurisdiction of the Department of Public Works.

Please try and help us.
