LETTER: Metro makes good on service delivery promises

Reader thanks the Tshwane metro for its prompt action in replacing a stolen manhole cover.

Thank you for the article in Rekord (1 June 2018), which informed us that the metro was making good on its promises to pay for losses caused by power outages.

The following incident illustrates the metro’s intention to improve infrastructure and service delivery. Last week Friday, a large metal sewer cover on the sidewalk in front of our house in Silverton was stolen, leaving a deep hole.

This posed a serious danger to pedestrians, so we reported the incident to the metro. A friendly employee answered the phone and gave us a reference number. A replacement concrete cover was installed early Monday morning.
