ITHUBA URGES PARTICIPANTS TO CHECK THEIR TICKETS

R100 Million lotto jackpot remains unclaimed

ITHUBA Holdings, the operator of the National Lottery in South Africa, is actively searching for the winner of the R100m LOTTO jackpot from draw number 2461, which took place on August 3, 2024. The winning ticket, purchased at Pick n Pay, Hazeldean Square, Pretoria, has not yet been claimed, prompting ITHUBA to urge all National Lottery participants in Pretoria to check their tickets.

Charmaine Mabuza, CEO of ITHUBA, impressed on LOTTO participants to check their tickets, stating, “It is quite likely that the winner is still not aware that they hold the winning ticket. We urge all players to check their tickets urgently to see if they are the lucky winner of this life-changing jackpot.”

All unclaimed winnings are transferred to a National Lotteries Participants Trust Fund (NLPTF) for safe keeping until claimed by the respective winner. If the prizes are not claimed within 365 days from the draw date, the claim period will expire, and the funds are redirected towards the National Lottery Distribution Trust Fund (NLDTF) to share among good causes and beneficiary organizations.

The unclaimed R100m LOTTO jackpot now stands as the second-largest in history, following the R110m jackpot that was shared among four winners in January 2018. As a value added service, ITHUBA provides all winners of R50, 000 and above with trauma counselling and financial advice.

All National Lottery winnings are tax free. Players must be 18 years or older.
