Hercules CPF receives equipment to beef up fight against crime

The CPF says the trailer, safety gear, hats, reflector jackets, torches, cones and barriers will go a long way to assist the men and women in blue as they patrol the community.

Crime prevention remains a critical service, especially in certain areas more prone to problems often due to geographical factors.

Hercules CPF Sector 2 (HCPF2), which has been operating in the western part of the capital city was recently gifted new equipment to assist in local crime prevention.

Coca-Cola Beverages (CCBSA) donated equipment used by the teams on an ongoing basis.

The handover took place on October 11 at Claremont Square, Pretoria West.

Hercules is divided into four sectors, with CCBSA based in Sector 2, hence the inspiration behind the collaboration.

HCPF2’s operational co-ordinator, Johan Cloete, said he was approached by CCBSA on how they could help the CPF and the sector as a whole.

CCBSA donated a trailer, safety gear, hats, reflector jackets, torches, cones and barriers to close areas. Cloete said this equipment can be used during roadblocks and accidents, especially at night.

“This will go a long way in assisting the brave men and women in blue for their crime-fighting initiatives as they patrol the community,” Cloete said.

The donation was made possible through the local community organisation, Angels in Need.

HCPF2 chairperson, Louisa van Staden expressed her appreciation for the donation. “Words cannot explain how grateful we as HCPF Sector 2 are. The Hercules community will benefit from this new ops trailer. Thank you so much to Coke,” she said.
