Kingswood Village hosts fun walk for seniors

Residents of a local retirement village in the east were beaming with joy as they embarked on a delightful group walk on Thursday.

The Kingswood Retirement Village hosted the fun walk as part of its yearly programme, which allowed the elderly to enjoy the sun shining and the beauty of their community.

The event brought together 35 enthusiastic participants ranging from 60 to 93 years old.

Participants strolled through picturesque surroundings accompanied by their children and grandchildren.

The spokesperson for Kingswood Retirement Village, Annemarie Naudé said their retirement home is a sought-after destination for seniors seeking a fulfilling lifestyle.

According to Naudé, their trustees and management prioritise enhancing creative ageing to promote residents’ overall well-being.

“Creative ageing empowers our residents to live life to the fullest,” Naudé explained.

“By engaging in artistic and creative activities they maintain physical, emotional, and social wellness,” she said.

She said the activities they do play a vital role in enhancing quality of life regardless of their age.

Naudé added that through art, music, physical activity, or any other creative expression, each person’s unique perspective and experience can contribute to the Kingswood Village community.

“It’s wonderful to see our residents thriving,” Naudé said.

“Events like these demonstrate our dedication to promoting healthy ageing.”
