Drugs hidden in toilet pipes confiscated by north police

The police also apprehended a suspect linked to a murder case in Temba.

Drugs worth R10 000 were fished out of a Hammanskraal toilet on October 1.

This follows an operation, initiated by a community tip-off, which resulted in the arrest of a 44-year-old suspect for possession and dealing in illegal drugs.

The Tshwane Crime Intelligence Unit achieved the notable victory in the fight against drug-related crime.

Police spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi said upon arriving at the suspect’s location, officers discovered the suspects attempted to dispose of approximately R10 000 worth of drugs by flushing them down the toilet.

“The drugs, concealed within the toilet pipes, were recovered by law enforcement officials who acted swiftly in response to the community’s alert.”

Nevhuhulwi said in a separate incident on the same day, law enforcement also apprehended a 43-year-old wanted suspect linked to a murder case in Temba.

“This individual was arrested in Hammanskraal for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

“The police confiscated a silver 9mm pistol along with a magazine and two live rounds of ammunition,” she said.
