The Samca festival also played host to the Miss All-American Muscle pageant.

Local motorheads recently gathered at Lavender Kontrei Mark for the annual Samca Festival, sponsored by All American Muscle.

The day put over 100 of the most classic and iconic automobiles and bikes throughout history on display.

Just over 2 000 attendees took part in the festivities which included live music, numerous food and craft stalls, and plenty of family-friendly games.

The Samca festival also played host to the Miss All-American Muscle pageant. Claire Nunes emerged as the overall winner of the competition.

Cobra Club South Africa President, Heinrich du Preez says the festival is a perfect day out, offering a refreshing take on the classics in the ever-evolving world.

“I’m in the electric car business and it’s taking over the world so to see these old cars, like from the 60s, 70s, it gives a nostalgic feeling especially for the older people because they drove those cars. There was no power steering, no electric stuff on the cars, no air-con, in the old days only the big and expensive cars had air-con, nowadays, they all do. For us, the Cobras, it’s the closest you can get to driving a race car on public roads,” Du Preez.
