Dorpsfees brings together family and friends

Hundreds of people came together to connect and celebrate at the Pierre Van Ryneveld Dorpfees this weekend.

The annual three-day Dorpsfees celebration organised by the NG Kerk Pierre van Rynevel took place at the end of August.

The festivities commenced with a delightful social bike ride on August 28, setting a joyful tone for the entire celebration.
Following this, the community came together for an exhilarating night run race on August 29, with an incredible turnout of over 600 enthusiastic participants.

The highlight of the celebration unfolded on August 31, consisting of a vibrant town festival hosted at the church grounds. The venue was creatively transformed to accommodate a bustling market, a lively playground, and a captivating stage area, creating an atmosphere of joy and excitement. Visitors had the opportunity to explore an array of stalls offering an assortment of homemade goods, delightful coffee and various other items, providing ample choices for attendees to indulge in.

The action-packed schedule for the day included engaging activities such as a “cutest” baby competition, a colourful and creative colouring competition, and a special performance by beloved children’s entertainers, Dienkie and Doedals, much to the delight of the kids.

Adding to the entertainment, stars Renaldo and Bianca Blanc from Die Kontrak entertained the audience with performances, delivering a few of their hits and enthralling cover songs.
