Pretoria North CPF prepares for sector election showdown

Residents are being urged to vote for their new CPF representatives to serve their community this year.

The Pretoria North Community Policing Forum (CPF) is preparing to host the upcoming elections for its sectors.

The CPF’s public relations officer Lebo Moloi said all CPF executives and sectors, the Department of Community and Safety, the CPF district and SAPS Pretoria North are in agreement with this process.
They would like all community members to join in electing members to represent them in their respective sectors.

Moloi said the elections will take place at Pretoria North SAPS on September 2.

The CPF will have six vacant positions, for chairperson, deputy chairperson, secretary, deputy secretary, treasurer, and public relations officer, which must be filled in the first week of September.

“The elections will begin with sectors 1 and 2, focusing on re-establishing leadership that truly represents all areas within these sectors.

“The Sector 1 elections will commence at 18:00, followed by Sector 2 at 18:30.”

She said the collaborative effort will see all CPF sectors coming together in unity, reflecting a shared commitment to ensuring a representative and inclusive leadership for the community.

“This is a critical step towards fostering a safer and more cohesive community.

“The CPF elections have received the backing of the Department of Community Safety, the CPF Tshwane North District, CPF Pretoria North executives, and the SAPS Pretoria North.”

Moloi urged all community members to participate in the elections, which offer a vital opportunity for residents to elect leaders who will advocate for their safety and well-being.

“The Pretoria North CPF objectives include enhancing communication between the police and the community, mutual trust, and encouraging active participation in crime prevention initiatives.”

Through regular meetings, patrols, and community outreach, the CPF works to identify and address local safety concerns, ensuring police are aware of and responsive to the specific needs of the community.

“By participating in the CPF, community members can play a direct role in shaping the safety and security strategies of their area,” said Moloi.
