New team to man North Crisis Centre

The newly elected team is poised to elevate the centre’s mission of providing immediate emotional support to victims of crime, accidents and traumatic events.

The Pretoria North Crisis Centre (NCC) recently welcomed its new management team.

The change of leadership has been described as an exciting new chapter for the community organisation.

The newly elected team, comprising Mariette Naude, Marnette Sutherland, Queen Nthite, Sanet Strydom, and Itu Moragi, is poised to elevate the centre’s mission of providing immediate emotional support to victims of crime, accidents and traumatic events.

According to the centre manager, Mariette Naude, the NCC has long been a cornerstone of support in Pretoria North and has been dedicated to offering a safe and compassionate space for people experiencing trauma.

She said the organisation’s commitment to victim empowerment and support has been unwavering, and the introduction of this experienced team promises to enhance its capabilities further.

“Each member of the new management team brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to helping those in need, ensuring the centre continues to provide dignified and respectful care to its clients,” said Naude.

She said the new team members are known for their expertise in counselling and dedication to community service.

“Their leadership is expected to strengthen the centre’s ability to offer immediate emotional relief and facilitate referrals for ongoing professional care.

“This renewed leadership team aims to foster a more robust support system for victims, reflecting a deepened commitment to the community’s well-being.”

The centre’s effectiveness is amplified by its strong partnerships with Pretoria North SAPS, the Pretoria North Victim Empowerment Centre, and other community professionals.

These collaborations are crucial for delivering comprehensive support and resources to those affected by trauma.

Naude said by working closely with these partners, the NCC ensures a coordinated approach to victim support, which is essential for fostering resilience and hope in individuals facing challenging circumstances.

In addition to the leadership changes, the centre has introduced a new emergency contact number: 077 607 2874.

“This update is part of the centre’s ongoing efforts to enhance accessibility and responsiveness, ensuring that individuals in need of immediate assistance can reach out quickly and efficiently.”

The centre’s mission to provide immediate, compassionate support remains at the heart of its operations, and the new leadership is committed to continuing this essential work with renewed energy and focus.

“The community can look forward to a strengthened support network that is better equipped to address the needs of those affected by trauma, helping to build a more resilient and hopeful future for all,” said Naude.
