A new hair salon specialising in hair colouring celebrated its official glamorous opening on August 9 at the easy and accessible shopping centre on 850 Barnard Street in Elarduspark.
Studio 159, which was first operated in Moreleta Park from Janine and Chris Gerber’s home, now needs more space to accommodate an extended client base. They also wanted to extend the hours the salon is open to accommodate the needs of clients.
Director Janine Gerber said they chose the The Block Lifestyle and Medical centre as a location because it has enough secure parking and is easily accessible from the highway and main roads.
“We also now have extended hairdressing services as a result of the larger salon that we can offer to our loyal customers,” explains Janine.
She and Chris are well-known as hair colouring specialists with several qualifications and a creative approach as a specialist salon service.
The services have already been offered from their home since December 2013 and are highly in demand.
The team also continues to specialise in offering perms, as well as hair treatments such as Brazilians.
Janine and Chris believe that being consistent in their quality of service is part of their recipe for success.
Both have already been in the industry for 28 years.
Janine has been working in the industry in Pretoria for 24 years. Pretoria-born Chris has worked in the industry in the capital city for almost all his working life, except for stints in the United Kingdom and Bela-Bela.
“We want to thank our clients for their loyalty and support through the years and the constant referrals to their friends and loved ones. Without them, as well as our Lord, we would not have been able to achieve any success,” said Janine.
Studio 159 has won the Best Hairsalon accolade in the Pretoria Rekord’s Best of Pretoria competition’s Glam It Up category three times, an achievement the husband and wife team is proud of.
They will be offering their services seven days a week at Salon 159 at The Block Centre, 850 Barnard Street, Elarduspark from Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 18:00; On Saturdays from 08:00 to 17:00 and on Sundays from 08:00 a.m. to 15:00.
