New waste collection schedule for Centurion and surrounding areas

The metro says it aims to maximise effective service delivery with the implementation of the revised schedule.

Residents in Centurion and surrounding areas can expect a change in their waste collection schedule as of August 1.

The change comes after the metro received numerous complaints from residents in these areas about missed collections, which led to an assessment of the garbage collection routes.

The metro said it aims to maximise effective service delivery with the implementation of the revised schedule.

However, residents may experience slight delays in waste collection services as the city tries to stabilise the system with its newly appointed waste service providers.

MMC for Environment and Agriculture Ziyanda Zwane said the waste service providers would be contracted for three years as of July 15.

Residents are urged to be patient as the city works to stabilise their waste collection system.

To report delays experienced, customers are advised to email wastemanagement@tshwane.gov.za or call 012 358 9999.
