Jukulyn mother and daughter rescued from kidnappers

The two suspects were apprehended after police received a tip-off about robbery and kidnapping.

A mother and daughter were recently rescued from kidnappers, which led to two suspected robbers and kidnappers being arrested in Jukulyn, north of Pretoria by the Tshwane Stabilisation Team.

The suspects aged 29 and 34 were apprehended on July 20 after police had received a tip-off regarding nefarious activities.

Captain Tintswalo Sibeko said: “While patrolling the area in the early hours of Saturday, the team received a complaint from radio control about the robbery and kidnapping. They initiated a search for the stolen vehicle and the victims, a mother and her daughter who were kidnapped during the house robbery.”

“The police were able to recover the stolen car and apprehended two suspects in Jukulyn as they tried to flee the scene. The mother and daughter, who were the victims of crime, have been safely rescued,” Sibeko said.

The suspects are expected to appear in court in due course.

Police say that stabilisation operations will continue until the affected areas return to normal, and crimes such as robberies, car hijackings, and vehicle theft are addressed.

Residents are encouraged to report any criminal activity or criminals to the SAPS Crime Stop hotline on 08600 10111.
