Warning of possible waste collection delays

Tshwane metro is in the process of introducing new waste management service providers.

Residents are warned of slight delays they may experience in waste collection services as the city tries to stabilise the system with new service providers.

According to Tshwane metro, the new waste management service providers will be introduced as of July 15.

MMC for Environment and Agriculture spokesperson Ziyanda Zwane said the normal collection schedule would remain unaffected after the Tshwane metro has appointed a panel of contractors to collect waste for three years.

“The old contract came to an end on July 12 and the new one starts on July 15 for a period of three years.”

Community members are urged to be patient as the city works to stabilise their waste collection system.
