Blue transitioned to Amapiano to establish himself as an independent vocalist and icon.

Meet Blue, a rising Mamelodi star of soulful Amapiano and pop traditional music.

Blue, whose birth name is Malamola Tsima (27), is a musician and songwriter born in Mamelodi and is set to release his first single, “Lovie Wam”.

His music journey started during his teenage years when he started singing at school, church, and participated in choir competitions.

Currently, Blue collaborates with J. Power and Sky T, who are producers of “Lovie Wam”.

He said the duo worked tirelessly on the single set to be released at the end of July and officially launched at the end of June.

He said this song, which addresses themes of freedom and self-acceptance, is Blue’s response to critics and a testament to his resilience.

Blue is a rising star of soulful Amapiano and pop traditional music.

Blue’s music career was nurtured within his family, where music was a gift and a source of joy.

He said he started singing with the Bana ba Kgotso choir and found inspiration in Beyoncé Knowles, whose unique mezzo-soprano vocals deeply influenced his style.

Initially focused on gospel music, Blue transitioned to Amapiano to establish himself as an independent vocalist and icon.

He started writing songs with a powerful message, particularly about love, drawing inspiration from personal experiences and spontaneous ideas.

He said a significant turning point in his career came when he met Max Cool, a vocalist who introduced him to Ocean Vibes, a group led by twin producers Gift DJ Ncanes and Given DJ Bongs in Nellmapius.

Despite not knowing how to write lyrics at the time, Blue taught himself and eventually co-created the album Tsa Lewatle, which was released in March 2023.

Blue is deeply grateful for the support he receives from fans and well-wishers, valuing their encouragement through both challenging and triumphant times.

He remains committed to his passion for music, continuously striving to make an impact as an artist.
