Armed robbery at jewellery store in Brooklyn Mall

An armed robbery took place at a jewellery store in Brooklyn on Monday. It is believed the scene is still active; avoid the area.

An armed robbery took place at a jewellery store in Brooklyn on Monday.

Crime activist Yusuf Abramjee posted videos and photos of the armed robbery.

It is believed a group of armed robbers stormed the store earlier on Monday. Shots were fired. It is not yet known if anyone was injured in the shooting.

Nor the police or the Brooklyn Mall management could not yet confirm the robbery or provide more information.

The public is advised to avoid the area as emergency services are still busy on the scene.

Meanwhile, in other news, Tshwane police, security services, and community groups arrested 512 suspects for various crimes over the weekend.

“Over the weekend, Tshwane Police, led by Brigadier Samuel Thine, executed their duties tirelessly,” said Tshwane SAPS spokesperson, Johan van Dyk.

He said that the operations involved collaboration with various government departments, including Home Affairs, Gauteng Traffic, local law enforcement such as Tshwane Metro Police Department and Community Policing Forums.

Police patrolled crime-prone areas, inspections for compliance, and crackdowns on illegal alcohol sales.
