Metro billing system down over the weekend due to financial year-end procedures

Billing-related services will be closed until Monday morning.

The Tshwane metro has temporarily closed its billing-related services From Saturday, June 29, due to financial year-end procedures.

The metro said in a statement that the services are expected to resume by 07:30 on Monday, July 1.

“This temporary closure comes as a result of the financial year-end procedures which will affect the SAP ECC6 system (Billing system).

As a result, the system which is used for billing services will be offline,” it said.

Credit control, meter readings, customer care, and proof of payment call and e-mail services will be closed to prevent a backlog while the system is offline.

The metro advised residents who might have sent emails for any of the affected services to resend the emails on Monday when the system would be restored.

The following call centre services will remain available:

–  Power failure
– Streetlights
– Water leaks
– Roads and stormwater
– Potholes
– Traffic signals
– Water and sanitation

The following email services will be available:

– To report potholes: send an email to potholes@tshwane.gov.za.
– To report faulty traffic lights: send an email to trafficsignalfaults@tshwane.gov.za.
– To report water leaks: send an email to waterleaks@tshwane.gov.za.
– To report sewer problems: send an email to sewerblockage@tshwane.gov.za.
– To report streetlights: send an email to streetlights@tshwane.gov.za.
– To report waste collection challenges: send to wastemanagement@tshwane.gov.za.

Power failures can also be reported by SMS or online.
