Freitag was last seen on the morning of June 17 in Booysens in Pretoria West.

She said she opened a case at Lyttelton police station, which she was told was transferred to Pretoria West SAPS.

At the time of speaking to Rekord on Thursday morning, Lewis said she had yet to receive a case number.

She said an unknown man had picked Freitag up at his mother’s home in Bronkhorstspruit.

Freitag won the World Youth Championships in Poland in 1999, World Junior Championships in Chile in 2000, World Championships in France in 2003, before competing in the 2004 Athen Olympic Games.
