R21 highway CLOSED due to low-hanging power lines

Motorists have been advised to avoid the R21 highway between Olifantsfontein and Nellmapius due to low-hanging power lines.

The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) has warned motorists to avoid the R21 highway between Olifantsfontein and Nellmapius due to low-hanging power lines on Friday.

Eskom said its technicians are on-site working to repair the low-hanging power lines on the R21 highway between Olifantsfontein and Nellmapius (Pretoria).

 

“The estimated time of restoration is currently not available. We apologise for the inconvenience this causes.”

Meanwhile, the EMPD said motor vehicles are being diverted to Pretoria road and will join the freeway again on Nellmapius just after St George’s hotel.

In other news, Pretoria motorists was earlier advised to avoid the following streets in the CBD affected by a march.

According to the Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD), the marchers will gather from 10:00 at Burgers Park.
