Mamelodi motivational speaker launches book about dealing with debt

The book is about giving hope and encouragement people not to give up but to fight to restore their financial lives which have collapsed.

A Mamelodi author and motivational speaker has written a book to help people sinking deeper and deeper into debt every day.

Anthony Ntobeko Peter (57) of Moretele View in Mamelodi West said the purpose of his book is to help people who find themselves in the shackles of financial slavery.

The book Breaking Free from the shackles of financial slavery is about his own financial struggles and that of married relatives.

“The book is aimed at changing bad attitudes and bad habits about how we use money. Black people growing up never had the opportunity to learn about using and saving money,” he said.

In the book, he shares his story and observations of other people.

“The book is about giving them hope and encouragement not to give up but to fight to restore their financial life, which has collapsed,” he said.

“The book highlights some of the problems that lead a person to become a slave to their financial circumstances.

“It seeks to teach you how to handle your financial life as an individual in marriage, dealing with your children as well as your family and friends.”

He said the book highlights the impact of religion and customary beliefs on finances.

The book also highlights the problems that lead to a financial dilemma as well as solutions to address the problems.

“It will also assist those who are still free from this scourge not to become a victim of financial slavery.”
