Police need help to find man from Mamelodi East

‘We have searched almost everywhere at hospitals, police stations, government mortuaries, friends, and family relatives, with no sign of him.’

Police have asked the public to help solve the case of a missing Mamelodi East man.

Spokesperson, Constable Penelope Khulong, said the police have already started with the investigations.

She said Tongai Gumo (37) of Phomolong was last seen in Soshanguve on January 19.

According to Gumo’s mother, Edinah Chirilel, he visited her in Soshanguve that day and said he would later visit his cousin also in Soshanguve.

Khulong said when the mother called the next day to find out if Gumo had travelled safely, she could not get hold of him.

“The mother then called the cousin, who confirmed he had never arrived at his place of residence,” said Khulong.

The mother went to his place to look for him, but he was nowhere to be found.

Gumo, who is from Zimbabwe, is short in height and dark in complexion.

Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is requested to call Mamelodi East SAPS on 012 815 7079, Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or send information via MYSAPSAPP.

All information will be treated as confidential if callers wish to remain anonymous.
