Multi-vehicle truck accident on N14 – avoid the area

A truck collided with multiple vehicles on the N14 on Tuesday morning. Motorists are advised to AVOID the area. Here is the latest.

A truck collided with multiple vehicles on the N14 near the R55 in Thatchfield on Tuesday morning.

According to Tshwane EMS Deputy Chief Charles Mabaso, the highway is completely closed.

“The highway is completely closed off, but traffic officials are on the scene to manage the road. We advise motorists to use alternative routes until further notice.

He said a truck collided with multiple vehicles just before 08:00.

“Emergency Services are currently on the scene, and multiple vehicles—so far, eighteen vehicles—have been counted.”

Mabaso said a total of 24 recorded patients with minor to serious injuries have been transported to various hospitals by various ambulance services.

“The cause of the accident will be investigated by law enforcement agencies.”

Meanwhile, looters helped themselves to bottles and bottles of mayonnaise on the R21 on Monday afternoon.

This comes as a truck transporting mayonnaise lost its load on the R21 just after the Atlas Road interchange on the East Rand.

It has not been confirmed whether the truck lost its load by itself or whether bystanders caused it.

The video was posted on X by outspoken anti-crime activist Yusuf Abramjee.

Traffic has been affected for several hours as cleanup is underway. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and to use alternative routes.

No injuries have been reported.
