Avoid these streets today – planned march underway

Motorists are advised to avoid these streets today as a planned march is currently underway. Here are the affected streets.

The Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) advised motorists on Thursday to avoid several streets in Pretoria as a planned march is currently underway.

According to the TMPD, the South African Police Service (SAPS) public servants are marching to hand over a memorandum regarding the implementation of the SAPS Act, which was approved on 3 March 2022. 

The marchers are expected to gather from 11:00 at Prince’s Park in Pretoria. They will then march to the SAPS Head Office in Pretoria. 

Furthermore, it is expected that they will disperse from March at 14:00 at the SAPS Head Office on Thursday. 

Here is the route of the planned march: 

From the gathering point at Prince’s Park (South), they will turn left onto Nana Sita Street (East), turn left on Bosman Street (North) , then turning right into Francis Baard Street and continue straight until they reach the SAPS Head Office which is between Thabo Sehume and Paul Kruger Streets.
