Mams man with mental illness reported missing

The complainant had reported that the missing man usually tends to leave and comes back home, but not this time.

A Mamelodi East family is desperately looking for their uncle who had disappeared on February 4.

They said Elmond Charles Matseke (29) of Mamelodi East ext. 11 was last seen around 06:00 that day.

His nephew, Dennis Mashilo Matseke, said on February 4, his uncle woke at 06:00 and left the residence without indicating where he was going.

He said his uncle is on medication for a mental health condition.

Police spokesperson Constable Penelope Khulong said police are investigating a missing person’s case.

She said the complainant reported that the victim tends to leave and usually comes back home, but this time had not.

“The family searched almost everywhere for him; at friends and families with no success,” she said.

The family said when Elmond was last seen he wore grey shorts and shirt and wasn’t wearing shoes.

There is no waiting period to report a missing person.

Anyone with information of Elmond’s whereabouts can call Mamelodi East SAPS on 012 815 7079 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
