Monument Park water supply to be interrupted for eight hours

The work today will take eight hours, from 08h00 until 16h00.

Tshwane has announced its intention to conduct “urgent” upgrades to Monument Park’s water supply today, Tuesday February 6.

The bulk of the upgrade work will take place on the water supply pipeline on the corner of Kolgans and Windswawel streets in Monument Park.

The metro said in a statement that the interruption of supply will be avoided at all costs, however, it may occur in the following areas:

– Monument Park extensions 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, 14 and 15; and

– Waterkloof 378-JR.

The work will take eight hours, from 08:00 until 16:00.

Residents are urged to make use of the following water-saving tips:

– Do not water or irrigate gardens with a hosepipe or sprinkler system between 06:00 and 18:00

– Do not wash a vehicle with a hosepipe

– Do not fill the swimming pool

– Install a low-flow shower head and tap aerators where possible

– Use a dual-flush toilet cistern

– Plant indigenous or drought-resistant shrubs in the garden

– Use a broom instead of a hosepipe when cleaning the driveways or patio

– Collect rainwater to reuse in the garden or to wash the car

– Cover the swimming pool to reduce water evaporation

– Take a short shower rather than a bath

– Close running taps while brushing teeth or shaving

– Regularly check toilets and taps for leaks.
