Adèle Fouché, Colbyn, February 2

Start your weekend off with an intimate show with Saarkie lead Adèle Fouché.

Saarkie has been one of the coolest cats on the Afrikaans rock scene for almost two decades, and never disappoints with a stage presence to make any stage feel like home.

The show will start at 18:00 at Café Barcelona in Colbyn, with Adèle taking to the stage at 19:00.

Black Cat Bones and Black Heidi, Menlyn, February 2

Sowaar Bar in Pretoria East is excited to be hosting The Black Cat Bones and Black Heidi for a Friday night to remember.

From right here in Silverton, the Black Cat Bones has been thrilling music lovers since 2007, while Black Heidi quickly became a must-see on all the best local stages.

The show starts at 17:00

Beer and Biltong Festival, Annlin, February 3

Saturday is National Beer Day, so celebrating local brews is on the cards.

Lavender Kontrei Mark is hosting various local breweries and biltong exhibitors for the perfect pairing.

The market will also have the usual craft stalls and live entertainment, including the Velvet Oompah Band, and kids’ entertainment like tractor rides, water slides and more.

The market runs from 08:00 to 15:00 on Saturday.

Turksvyfees, Silverton, February 3

Head on down to the Pioneer Museum in Silverton on Saturday and learn about these super plants, “turksvye” (Turkish figs in Afrikaans), known as prickly pears in English.

Enjoy a fun day for the family with food stalls, live music, farm sport, folk games, demonstrations and loads of prickly pears and prickly pear products.

The event runs from 08:00 to 18:00.

Valentine’s Market, Lyttelton Manor, February 3

Don’t get caught lacking this Valentine’s Day – join the local market day at the Centurion Hospice in Lyttelton Manor.

Admission is free. There also is kids’ entertainment and pets are welcome.

The market starts on Saturday at 08:00.

Meow Mania Fun Day, Hennopspark, February 3

From 09:00 on Saturday, Woodrock Animal Rescue and Sandpaper Kisses Feral Cats are organising a day perfect for Pretoria’s animal lovers.

Attendees can take a feral community tour, treasure hunt, snacks, and an enlightening talk by the Sandpaper Kisses founder.

The admission fee is a bag of cat food to support animal rescue efforts.

Bad Peter and The Honeymooners, Irene, February 4

Sunday is Funday at Railways Café in Irene with local entertainers, Bad Peter and The Honeymooners.

Enjoy a lekker day out with chilled vibes.

The Honeymooners will hit the stage at 13:00, followed by Bad Peter at 15:00.

Booking is essential to secure a table.
