A driver miraculously survived when he lost control of his vehicle and landed up in a river

A driver miraculously survived when he lost control of his vehicle and landed in a river.

According to First for Help, the man only sustained minor injuries.

The accident happened on Saturday morning near Lavender and Paul Kruger Road.

The First for Help and Rescue team on the scene said there were no fatalities, only people with minor injuries.

“The car has now been recovered; the team managed to take it out of the river.

“The road is still closed, but it will be open once the team is done,” First for Help said.

Recovered car from the Apies River

Tshwane Emergency Services spokesperson Charles Mabaso told Rekord that the incident was reported early on Saturday morning.

Mabaso confirmed that the vehicle drove into the Apies River near Paul Kruger and R588 (K8).

“Firefighters arrived on the scene to find a light motor vehicle lying on its roof inside the river. The driver of the vehicle escaped with minor injuries,” he added.

Mabaso further said police were investigating the cause of the accident.
