Motorists warned of several street closures on Friday

Several streets in Tshwane will be closed due to a planned march on Friday. Click here for a list of the affected streets

Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) warned motorists and residents of the closure of several streets in Pretoria on Friday.

It said this is due to a planned marc which is expected to take place on Friday.

According to the TMPD, the march is expected to start at 09:30 at Church Square, then proceed to the Department of Home Affairs (Hallmark), and be dispersed by 12:30.

“From Church Square, the march will proceed on Paul Kruger Street, then turn right onto Johannes Ramokgoase Street and continue straight to the Department of Home Affairs.”

The march aims to submit the overviews and recommendations requested by the Minister of Home Affairs on immigrants and asylum seekers.

The streets that will be affected on Friday are:

– Madiba Street
– Paul Kruger Street
– Thabo Sehume Street

The TMPD said motorists can use the following streets as alternative routes,

– Sophie de Bruyn Street
– Bosman Street
– Pretorius Street
– Boom Street
