Sunday Potjie buffet at Die Boer Kultuurpark

Die Boer Kultuurpark is all about keeping the history of Afrikaans alive.

If you are into Afrikaans music, food, and culture, the Die Boer Kultuurpark, formerly known as Cowhouse, was the place to be this weekend.

This comes after Die Boer held one of its Sunday potjie buffets.

Die Boer is situated in a bushveld area in Silverlakes, east of Pretoria. The market aims to attract more families, especially Afrikaans-speaking people.

Zee van Rooyen, Die Boer brand manager, said Die Boer Kultuurpark is about keeping the history of Afrikaans alive.

She said many families gathered at the Kultuurpark from Friday to Sunday for the various tastes of unique foods, craft beer, and live music entertainment by Morris Paige, Eben, Trevor, and Manie Roberts.

However, the main drawcard on the Sunday Buffet menu was oxtail.

She said Die Boer is also making sure the youth of the future are always reminded of what is going on.

Zee said they are implementing it by adding a modern twist to the whole Afrikaans culture.

“Our mission is for Afrikaans people to reflect on their cultural past and celebrate our heritage,” she said.

Die Boer also provides a much-needed urban market for a variety of local, organic, wholesome products and local arts and crafts of good quality craftsmanship.’

She said the Die Boer is family-oriented, and a place where everyone can meet and greet and do business.

“Every weekend, we offer artists the opportunity to express themselves mainly in Afrikaans, country music, Afrikaans singers, and upcoming singers,” she added.

The place also has a kiddie play area for children to play.
