Missing elderly father found after spending night out in storm

A 67-year-old Stoffel Kemp, who went missing on Tuesday, was found in Pretoria East on Friday after he spent the night out in a storm.

According to family and friends, Kemp suffers from dementia.

According to the community’s emergency group, his daughter asked for the community’s assistance when she couldn’t find her 67-year-old father.

The group’s communique revealed that the man had spent his entire night in the veld during the storm.

“One of our Members decided on Wednesday to go to the surrounding complexes to look at CCTV footage at around 13:30. They spotted him on a camera in the morning close to 11am,” read the communique.

Upon viewing the CCTV camera, the community, local security companies, and members of the SAPS searched the entire veld for about an hour before they found Kemp.

Before his disappearance, Kemp had several strokes, which caused neurologic damage, and he was also on medication.
