Possible eight-hour-long water supply interruption in Rietvalleirand

 Tshwane Metro has scheduled repairs to the water supply network on Wednesday, December 6 for eight hours.

Residents of Rietvalleirand and surrounding must brace themselves for a possible eight-hour-long water supply interruption on Wednesday, December 6, owing to maintenance work.

Metro spokesperson Lindela Mashigo said the city will carry out maintenance work on a 100mm pipe in the water supply network at Portion 475, Rietvalleirand 337-JR.

“This essential work is expected to last for 8 hours, from 08:00 until 16:00, and may result in a water supply interruption,” Mashigo said.

He added that the following areas may be affected:

He said that the city apologises for any inconveniences that may be caused by the water supply interruption.

In addition to urging residents to continue using grey water to water gardens and flush toilets, he added that residents should make the following water-conservation measures part of their normal lifestyle:

Where possible, water-saving devices should be installed, and water leaks, burst pipes, and all incidents where water is wasted should be reported.
