Critically injured woman airlifted after Pretoria east accident

“The second patient was taken by ambulance under the care of an emergency care practitioner to a nearby hospital for further care.”

Two passengers were seriously injured and one woman was airlifted to a specialist facility following an accident in the east of Pretoria on the evening of Tuesday, October 3.

The accident occurred at the intersection of Solomon Mahlangu and January Masilela drives in Moreleta Park.

The exact circumstances around the accident are unknown at this stage.

Emer-G-Med paramedics spokesperson Kyle van Reenen said upon arrival on the scene, they found two critically injured women trapped inside a vehicle.

“The pair were treated and stabilised before being extricated with the assistance of Netcare 911, Gauteng Provincial EMS, VEMRU, and the Tshwane Fire Department,” Van Reenen said.

One of the patients was rushed to a specialist facility with the assistance of the Netcare911 aeromedical helicopter.
