“A CPF member informed the firefighters that someone was in the burning vehicle. They immediately started to extinguish both the vehicle and building nearby.”

A body burnt beyond recognition was found in a car on Marija Street in Sinoville in the early hours of Friday (September 29).

The Tshwane emergency services (EMS) was notified that a vehicle was on fire at approximately 03:00.

En route, firefighters could see the flames and dark smoke from far away, long before they even arrived on the scene.

EMS spokesperson Charles Mabaso said a light motor vehicle, that appeared to have lost control and hit a wall was on fire when the firefighters arrived.

“A CPF member informed the firefighters that someone was in the burning vehicle.

They immediately started to extinguish both the vehicle and building nearby.”

Mabaso said the firefighters waited for a police photographer to take photos before forcing open the vehicle door to access the body.

The scene was handed over to the SAPS for further investigation.
