Sinoville police search for missing domestic worker after house robbery
Patience Murata was last seen at her place of work on June 26 when a house robbery took place at the premises and she has not been seen or heard from since.
Sinoville police are urgently seeking the public’s help in finding Patience Murata, a 40-year-old domestic worker who went missing in June following a house robbery at a property in Haakdoringlaagte.
According to police spokesperson, Sergeant Gomolemo Modibane, three unknown men robbed a house where Murata was working as a domestic worker.
Modibane said during the robbery, the men bound the gardener and struck the child with a hammer.
“They then ordered the homeowner to open a safe that was hidden in the main bedroom.”
He said the suspects took an undisclosed amount of money and a firearm.
Modibane said thereafter they tied the homeowner up.
“The suspects then loaded things [property] into the vehicle over several trips.”
Modibane said in the morning when the complainant realised the suspects were not coming back, the hostages helped untie each other.
“Since Murata has never been seen again,” he said.
She had last been seen wearing grey leggings with silver side trim, a dark blue striped fleece zip-up jersey and a blue work overall.
He said police have searched for her among family and friends without any success.
He urged anyone with information that can help find her to contact the investigating officer, Warrant Officer Benade on 012 543 0800 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
He said the investigation is ongoing.
