Not only will the show be packed with united voices, but will be feature Bobby van Jaarsveld, Karlien van Jaarsveld and Anlia Star at Moreleta Church in De Villebois Mareuil Drive from 18:30.

Spider walk, September 17

For nature-loving kids and parents, this informative outing is a must this weekend.

The walk will take place at Groenkloof nature reserve, which boasts some epic natural grounds that contain a few habitats to find all sorts of spiders.

The focus for the day is all about learning about the misunderstood and awesome creatures.

The walk starts at 08:30 and is organised by the Spider Club of Southern Africa.

Carnival Kingdom, September 15–17

The carnival is back in town and sticking around until January.

Boasting fan favourites like “The Crazy Wave”, ferris wheel, carnival games and more, the Grove Mall carnival is open on weekends, and public and school holidays as the perfect place to make memories.

Head over on Fridays, from 15:00 to 21:00, Saturdays from 10:00 to 20:00, Sundays from 10:00 to 17:00, and from 10:00 to 19:00 on public and school holidays.

Bok, Bokke? Bokkie!, September 14

Get ready for a scrum-tastic evening at Railways Café as local queens kick off a rugby-themed drag night in honour of the 2023 Rugby World Cup.

Annita P, Genie Wish, and Miss Essential are ready to tackle the stage like you’ve never seen before, aiming to convert even the most die-hard rugby fans into drag aficionados.

Expect glittering tackles, fierce scrums, and more team spirit than you can shake a rugby ball at, say the queens.

The show starts at 19:30 on Thursday.

Oktoberfest, September 15–16

The Deutsche Internationale Schule Pretoria is hosting its 45th Oktoberfest based on the original Oktoberfest in München, Germany.

Guests will be entertained by the Oompah band “Innkreis Buam”, who are travelling to South Africa all the way from Europe, alongside a line-up of musicians including 4AM, Maeztro and The Morning After Band.

There will be a variety of beers to choose from that will satisfy even the most critical of beer connoisseur’s palate.

Germany’s food culture will also be on full display, with highlights such as eisbein, kassler, bockwurst, brezel and many other options.

Oktoberfest starts at 17:00 on Friday and ends at 23:30 on Saturday.

Wonderboom-Suid Festival, September 16

The NG church of Wonderboom South is hosting a Strawberry Carnival for an unforgettable festival.

On offer will be all the usual stalls with delicious food, including strawberry smoothies made from the freshest strawberries.

Go home with export-quality strawberries sold at giveaway prices.
