Mothers robbed at gunpoint at children’s swimming class

The women were robbed by two armed suspects who fled the scene in a silver Volkswagen Polo.

Three women were robbed of their personal belongings at gunpoint at their children’s swimming lesson in Wierda Park, Centurion, today.

Corné Brümmer, a spokesperson for private security company Copwatch, said they responded to the panic call at around 14:15.

“The eyewitnesses only saw two suspects; however, we believe there must at least have been four.

“The children, all aged around three to five years, had just finished their swimming lesson. Three mothers were present.”

He said as the first mother and child left and they opened the gate, two suspects entered.
