Five men drown while performing rituals at Stinkwater dam
"It is alleged that the water started to make waves and pushed five of them deep into the water where they disappear."
Temba police are investigating an inquest after five men drowned in a dam in Stinkwater while performing rituals last week Thursday.
Sergeant Herman Moremi said eight men went to the dam to perform rituals but two of them did not go into the dam.
“Only six went inside the dam at around 19:00 on Wednesday.
“It is alleged that the water started to make waves and pushed five of them deep into the water where they disappeared. Only one man managed to survive.”
Moremi said on Thursday police divers recovered four of the men and the fifth one was recovered on Saturday morning.
