Nu Metro cinemas in Pretoria are gearing up for a magical December at the movies. They have a great mix of movies lined up for everyone to enjoy – from animated family adventures to musicals, superhero action, sci-fi blockbusters plus lots, lots more. All their cinemas will be open daily from Thursday, 16 December, for the festive season.

West Side Story (16 LPSV) – showing from December 10
Director Steven Spielberg’s modern remake of the hit Broadway show, West Side Story, is a spectacular cinematic experience filled with music. Love at first sight strikes when young Tony spots Maria at a high school dance in 1957 New York City. Their burgeoning romance helps to fuel the fire between the warring Jets and Sharks – two rival gangs vying for control of the streets.

Monsta X: The Dreaming (PG) – showing December 10-12

Spider-Man: No Way Home (10-12PG V) – showing from December 16
The wait is almost over! Bookings for Spider-Man: No Way Home are now open online and at Nu Metro cinemas. For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man™, our friendly neighbourhood hero (Tom Holland) is unmasked. He is no longer able to separate his normal life from the high-stakes life of a superhero. When he asks for help from Doctor Strange, the situation becomes even more dangerous, forcing Spider-Man to discover what it truly means to be who he is.

The Matrix Resurrections (16 DLV) – showing from December 22

The new Matrix movie reunites original stars Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss in the iconic roles they made famous, “Neo” and “Trinity.” In The Matrix Resurrections, they return to the source. Twenty years have passed, and Neo is living a seemingly ordinary life as Thomas A. Anderson in San Francisco, where he’s on a regular prescription of blue pills. Neither he nor Trinity recognise each other. Morpheus returns to offer the red pill, and reopens Neo’s mind to the world of The Matrix.
