Walking, talking, digitally connected bots have become children’s best friends, and 11-year-old Barney, a socially awkward middle-schooler struggling in the social media age, gets a new digital friend: “Ron” – that’s designed to be his instant “best friend out of the box”. But soon Ron’s malfunctions launch them into an action-packed journey in which boy and robot come to terms with the wonderful messiness of true friendship. <ct:Italic>Ron’s Gone Wrong<ct:> is a great animated comedy-adventure for the whole family to enjoy.

Redemption is the long game in The Card Counter. Told with cinematic intensity by director Paul Schrader, this revenge thriller tells the story of an ex-military interrogator turned gambler haunted by the ghosts of his past decisions, and features riveting performances from stars Oscar Isaac, Tiffany Haddish, Tye Sheridan, and Willem Dafoe.
