Eersterust police need help locating missing man

There is no waiting period to report a missing person

The Eersterust police station has appealed to the public to help with information regarding the whereabouts of a man who has been missing since late May.

Marthinus Scholtz (52) was last seen by his sister-in-law on Tuesday, May 25.

“Marthinus Scholtzlk, also known as Panman, is of medium built, light in complexion, medium height and has short hair. He was last seen wearing a maroon jersey and formal black pants,” said Eersterust police spokesperson Sergeant Sam Shibambo.

Scholtz used to do odd jobs for residents in and around Eersterust before his disappearance.

Shibambo urged the public to report their missing loved ones to the police as soon as they noticed their absence.

“There is no waiting period to report a missing person,” said Shibambo.

The police would also like anyone with information about Scholtz disappearance or whereabouts to call the following numbers: Detective Sergeant Jacobs on 064 6845 162, Eersterust police 012 806 1020, crime stop on 08600 10110, or SMS the crime line 32211.
