Tips for rebuilding yourself and your business after the lockdown

"My advice for all of you each day now and every day after the lockdown is to get up, dress up and show up! Stay proactive and you will succeed."

Local entrepreneur, businessman and life coach Michael Drummond advises business owners to continue to market their brands during the lockdown, to ensure that they are front and centre of everyone’s mind once the lockdown is lifted.

“The one aspect of business we should be paying the most attention to right now is marketing, digital marketing to be specific. There are seven pillars of success in any business,” Drummond says.

One of the seven key pillars to success is marketing which includes:

1. Strategy before action – planning is key.

2. Focus on your target audience – who are you targeting and why?

3. Stand out from the competition – be unique, if not in product in your approach.

4. Inform and educate your customers – don’t sell, educate as to why, not what.

5. Automate your lead generator sales funnel – make it simple but effective – this goes hand in hand with customer satisfaction.

6. Create a multitude of online presence platforms – use all platforms associated with your target audience.

7. Plan and live your marketing strategy through the day, week, month and year – planning in the long term as well as short assists with forward thinking and planning.

“Each day we get up and are proactive we are better than we were the previous day. My advice for all of you each day now and every day after the lockdown is to get up, dress up and show up! Stay proactive and you will succeed. It takes 10 000 hours of practice to become a master or a pro. Keep that in mind every day you get up and go to the office, giving your best. You are adding your 10 000 hours and moving closer to becoming a master in your trade, an absolute pro,” Drummond adds.
