Sundowns plead with communities to stay at home

Downs defender Wayne Arendse took to social media on behalf of his team to urge people to stay home.

Mamelodi Sundowns have pleaded with communities to stay indoors during the 21-day nationwide lockdown.

Downs defender Wayne Arendse took to social media on behalf of his team to urge people to stay home.

“Let’s respect the call of President Ramaphosa and stay at home. This is not just to protect yourselves, but also your loved ones, your friends and family; remember to always wash your hands using soap and hand sanitiser. If you really need to leave the house, do so [only] to get your essential needs such as food and medication.

“Please, let’s beat this vicious cycle called coronavirus. Together, we can beat this. Let’s stand together, be safe and keep these hands clean,” he said.

Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane thanked the army, police and other law enforcement for keeping order and calm in the country.

“Thanks to the nurses, doctors, volunteers for serving us and saving our lives, let’s make a job easier for them by keeping our hands washed regularly, keeping social distancing and staying at home,” Mosimane added.
