Little redhead Miss Junior SA runner-up

Chenique wants to become a heart surgeon and dreams of becoming the first redhead model to wear the crown as Miss Universe.

Seven-year-old Chenique Kooi of Laerskool Hennopspark was crowned International Miss Junior South Africa first princess at a special function held at Sun City last month.

Besides winning runner-up princess, Chenique earned the ambassador prize as well as the prize for the most photogenic model.

Chenique said she loved making new friends at every competition she takes part in.

“We had so much fun at Sun City. The evening before the gala event we had a pajama party. We knitted blankets for less privileged kids and welfare organisations,” said the redheaded girl.

Mom Chantal said her daughter adored beautiful dresses.

“She makes me mad. She is always busy texting her friends form my WhatsApp,” she laughed.

Chenique’s brother is her greatest supporter.

She wants to use some of the prize money she received at International Miss Junior South Africa to buy hoverboards for her and her brother.

“The rest of the money I would like to donate to girls whose dream is to do model work, but who cannot afford to live their dream.”

She is involved in various community and charity projects such as public benefit public organisation, Feed a Child.

Chenique wants to become a heart surgeon and dreams to hopefully become the first red-haired person to wear the crown as Miss Universe.
