New family orientated craft market

“We are the only market that give young entrepreneurs the opportunity to have a stall for free and learn to enter the business world,”

Kimiad family market in Moreleta prides itself on being “the only local market that give young entrepreneurs the chance to have a stall for free”.

“The market is a way for them to learn how to enter the business world,” said organisers Madeleen Snoer and Lafras van der Watt.

“It’s the place to be every Saturday morning.”

The market is held at the Kimiad bar and restaurant.

It was started late last year around November.

Coordinators of the Family Market, and Madeleen Snoer said since the market started, they have more 60 stalls including kids play area.

“Kimiad has a lot of space and has a nice atmosphere and have a strong foundation,” they said.

 “The aim is giving the young entrepreneurs opportunities, because there are no jobs. “We trying to teach them to start their own businesses at an early age.”

Van der Watt said the market is open from 08:00 to 14:00.

“Everyone is welcome to come and join the market including young entrepreneurs.”

At the market you can find anything from vegetables and arts and crafts to homemade fresh products.

There is also entertainment in the form of live music by local artists at the end of each month.
