Greenlyn Village hosted the arts and crafts market on Saturday.
Markerting manager Kobie Globler said the event was held every Saturday, and it has been going on for the past seven years.
He said when he took over as marketing manager there were about 20-25 stalls and this has now grown to 90.
Globler said that the area was full of people who worked at embassies.

“There are a lot of embassy people around. Those people want a place go to on a Saturday morning to relax, eat some breakfast, get some nice food, walk around, see high quality stalls and in an environment that is like this. A lot of markets are not to the quality of this environment, so I think that is the reason why this market is so successful.”
Globler said they helped charities raise funds by selling their art at the market for free.

“We link up with charities, there is a stall here where a charity sits every Saturday and we gave them the right. They collect money in a specific way for their charity. In Sunnyside there is group of people having an upliftment house, they do all kinds of handcrafts and all the money goes to uplifting the less privileged people in the Sunnyside area and we also give them space to come and sell their art.”
