R1-million reward for info after N4 highway cash heist

The number of suspects and the amount of cash taken from the vehicle is still unknown.

A R1-million reward has been offered for information after a cash-in-transit heist vehicle was bombed on Tuesday afternoon.

SBV Services said the cash van was ambushed around 16:00 on Tuesday. The vehicle was travelling on the N4 west highway towards Pretoria.

“The number of suspects and the amount of cash taken from the vehicle is still unknown. No SBV employees or civilians were injured during the attack.”

Police spokesperson Colonel Brenda Muridili said that four officers were forcefully removed from the vehicle after it was rammed off the road by a sedan.

“The suspects drove off in three vehicles while the one they used to ram off the cash van was left on the scene burning.”
