City extends operating hours at licensing centres

The metro's spokesperson Lindela Mashigo said the operating hours of selected centres within the municipality were extended until 1 February 2020.

Tshwane municipality’s roads and transport department have extended operating hours at Pretoria’s licensing centres as of Saturday, December 7.

The metro’s spokesperson Lindela Mashigo said the operating hours of selected centres within the municipality were extended until 1 February 2020.

“The centres will open from 08:00 until 15:00 on Saturdays only.

“This arrangement is meant to ensure that customers are catered for and not turned away during this busy period,” Mashigo said adding the following services would be rendered at the identified licensing centres:

* Renewal of driving licence cards
* Application and testing for learners licences
* Registration and licensing of motor vehicles

Below is a list of centres, services and operating hours: 

AKASIA

– Driving licence card renewal by appointment.

– Application for temporary driving licences subject to submission of a valid optometrist certificate. No need for an appointment.

– Application and testing for learner licence via online booking system.

– Licensing and registration of motor vehicles at public walk-in facilities.

The offices will open at 08:00 and close at 15:00 on Saturday.

CENTURION

– Driving licence card renewal by appointment

– Application for temporary driving licences subject to submission of a valid optometrist certificate. No need for an appointment.

– No learners license bookings for Centurion

– Licensing and registration of motor vehicles at public walk-in facilities.

The offices will open at 08:00 and close at 15:00 on Saturday.

WATLOO

– Driving licence card renewal by appointment.

– Application for temporary driving licences subject to submission of a valid optometrist certificate. No need for an appointment.

– Application and testing for learner licence via online booking system.

The offices will open at 08:00 and close at 15:00 on Saturday.

Please note, renewal of driving license cards are per appointment only. Card collections are allowed via walk-inns.
